Items

Welcome address

(Vanessa, 1 min)

Point 0: public minutes

(Vanessa, 1 min)

Get ok from all board members to upload minutes on wiki (or else discuss alternative below)

Objections?

Point 1: New Board

(Vanessa, 1 min) New period within our community! Define transition period: transfer sensitive information to new board members acquiring a new role:

  • welcome protocols
  • keywords & access to accounts (bank, social media)
  • HKRM calendar, UC meetings etc...

Make sure you bring in your project, ideas and concrete actions to develop in the future. Any question/comment/suggestion? We need to make sure everyone can express their vision.

Point 2: Biosafety & Lab management

(Vanessa, 3 min)

  • Things to get done (by Yann P. on the slack)

Fix the eye washers with the instructions against the wall next to the sink Find the bandaid box / medic box we had and put it in evidence somewhere in the lab (preferable close to the eyewashers) Make sure we have a fire extinguisher. Put it on the left of the sink Control if the asso has a "responsabilité civile" insurance. If not, look how we can get one.

  • Should we have a Biosafety guide/instruction/manager? (Chemicals, biohazard containers for aitoclave or blitch...)

Point 3: Events

(Vanessa, 3 min)

  • "Semiosphere su Commun" at BAC Genève Feb 11th - March 11th // Chromatographies Utopiana, Raphäelle, Vanessa February 15th, 10:00-17:00
  • EPFL Innovation Park (Darja) visit February 15th, 19:00-20:00
  • Wiki Sprint?
  • DIY Madrid, [1]
  • DIY Bcn Should we reconnect? (an email resent)
  • Any other event planned? At Hackuarium or in collaboration with the community?

Point 4: Biofabbing_Unconference

(Vanessa, 15 min)

(Another DIY Bio / hackerspace is cooking in Geneva, happening in May 2017 so they might also propose something, have to move our nice ass) Will most likely happen at CERN, not in Renens. Marc Dusselier is taking the lead, asking what the Hackuarium community wants to contribute for the day of Unconference.

  • WHO DOES WHAT? (? Open proposition)
    • WORKSTATIONS:
      • 3 - 4 HKRM with demo/workshop (AGIR, OCTANIS, BEERDECODED, BIODESIGN, DARTY MONKEYS, BANG BANG, UTOPIANA)
      • Masschallenge 1 - 2 projects (Swissdecoded/Beerdecoded)
      • Coworking 1 - 2 Projects (Strawberry robot)
    • BIOHACK CHALLENGE:
      • SPACERACE in collaboration with OCTANIS
      • DIY microscope & TARDIGRADE HUNTING in collaboration with Makerspace
      • KOMBUCHA SECOND SKIN DESIGN CHALLENGE in collaboration with Fablab
      • WETGAMES in collaboration with FIXME
    • MERCHANDISING:
      • TEXTILE BAG PRINTING/TSHIRT
      • STICKERS
      • POSTERS

Point 5: Projects

(Vanessa, 1 min)

  • Any particular comments regarding projects?
  • Any interest in pushing the projects from this doc?
  • LivingInstruments: 4 performances scheduled in London (4th April), Neuchâtel, London again and Appenzell.

Point 6: Common Good

(Vanessa, 30 min)

Reassess the board tasks -> for the first board meeting after the general assembly. Also work on tasks for all members?

Take pictures of all members -> paste them on the wall.

Wall for tasks -> Sam can explain the concept.

Common projects -> to gather members around common goals

Philosophy

Philosophy, Role and Governance should be a continuous discussion thread, Organization of an Open Hackuarium? (Shalf?) Maybe build a document similar to the Code of Conduct Octanis has written here?

Role

Based on the achievements, should we keep what we have done best as a community, and focus on this?
Yann: I still believe the best we did were the OH.
Sam: place that is remote from daily business.
Vanessa: place to do things and meet people who can help you make projects happen.
Ana: thought it was a place where people share skills with the general public, specific knowledge.
Gianpaolo: playground of wonder, need more interaction with people from the building.
Anne-Laure: space as a magnet attracting people and projects and making the place unique.

What is the role of Hackuarium, in relation to other associations (Octanis, HammerDirt, etc.) and other branded projects (BeerDeCoded, Water Drop, etc.)?
Yann: What about startup and other commercial, closed entities ?

What should we expect from these projects, and what should they expect from us?

Basically, should we clarify/specify financial and communication contributions?
Yann: Yes this should also follow a set of rules.

Governance

Do we want to change the governance system?
Yann: Absolutely : https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/15ARwPUZ4cHjsW-Ln0zprL5_79EtrDg_xYbWbdIWZVUs/edit#gid=0

Do we want to distribute responsibility for communication, social media, etc.?
Yann: Absolutely and for more than just this. ALL (literally all) the members have to be involved
